The Black Princes (Life of scotch and bitches)

Khalsa Raj was usurped by the British East India company through sheer treachery, fraud and political opportunism. Maharaja Ranjeet Singh’s legacy was contested and so was the right of his descendants to be the next sovereign. Maharaja Duleep Singh was installed king at the age of five but was separated from his mother, land, people and faith. He was converted to Christianity and made to relish a dependant pensioner exilees’ life in UK. All his attempts to come back to Punjab and reclaim his kingdom were thwarted. He tried to rely on Americans, French, Irish and Russians but all his efforts came to naught. He was even ditched by Indians. But he was successful in bringing to light the injustice done to his kith and kin, himself, Punjabis and the Khalsa. In nutshell, he was only successful in contesting the right of the British East India company and later on the British Empire to rule over Punjab.

Now at the time of Indian Independence, the Congress government of Independent India made very many promises to the Sikhs and Punjabis to join the Indian Union instead of Pakistan or claiming their own Khalistan. But after Sikhs joined India the Indian Union under the leadership of Nehru and Patel reneged on all commitments made to the Sikh leadership. Consequently, none of the Sikh members of parliament signed on the Indian constitution and the rift emerged between the Union of India and Sikhs/Punjabis. Over the years this lead to further breakup of Punjab, theft of river waters, exploitation of Punjabis and their farmlands, numerous attacks on their faith and culture such as physical, ideological, social, political, religious, etc.

The attack on the Sri Harimandir Sahib, the Golden Temple, was the zenith of injustice done by the government of Independent India to the Sikh nationalists and Sikhism. Over the years countless people have lost their lives and have been marginalized by society and millions have migrated overseas in search of peace and greener pastures. Now this global Punjabi diaspora have dug their roots in foreign countries and many have become rich and powerful. Instead of one Black Prince there are very many black princes in India and abroad who intend to reclaim the legacy of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh and establish the Khalsa Raj in the Indian subcontinent and beyond. The reason being the right to rule over Punjab has always been contested and successive governments have been meer usurpers.

Some of these black princes want to achieve this through diplomacy and political opportunism, some through organised militia and war, and there are some who are beyond any reproach and seeking Sikh Homeland through United Nations referendum.

Except through their own efforts nobody is going to give Sikhs any justice and they should forget about any empire of their own. The issues facing Sikhs and Punjabis are the same that challenged Maharaja Duleep Singh. On the one hand they have a peaceful and luxurious life of indignity (Life of scotch and bitches) under subjugation and on another dignified life of real sovereignty but full of strife and struggle. Neither US nor UK/Canada/Australia etc. or for that matter Pakistan and India would help them reclaim their lost glory. Their own efforts and belief in their Gurus and almighty Lord is going to satisfy their mind’s desires. To achieve real sovereignty Sikhs have to become sovereigns in their own selves first and that is only possible through Gurbani. Everything else is mere speculation, bullshit and nothing else.
