The undying self and the mortals

Even if you could live throughout the four ages, or even ten times more, and even if you were known throughout the nine continents and followed by all, with a good name and reputation, with praise and fame throughout the world—still, if the Lord does not bless you with His Glance of Grace, then who cares? What is the use? Among worms, you would be considered a lowly worm, and even contemptible sinners would hold you in contempt. O Nanak, God blesses the unworthy with virtue, and bestows virtue on the virtuous. No one can even imagine anyone who can bestow virtue upon Him. (JAPUJI SAHIB, PAGE 2, PAUREE ||7||).

India is a country that has been to the Moon and Mars and back. It has vast and mighty defence forces. It’s a nuclear power and has a great economy. US, UK, Australia, Canada, China, Europe, Russia, Middle East, Southeast Asia, Africa, South and Latin American nations, etc. are bending over their heels to accommodate India and do business with it. The country under the leadership of Modi is going guns and has achieved international name and fame.

Indira Gandhi, the best prime minister India ever had, also had scorpion qualities like Modi and even the US president, Richard Nixon, attested to her great leadership abilities. But then she and her accomplices had no fear of God and committed the worst blunder ever imaginable.

She ordered Indian defence forces to attack, plunder, desecrate and destroy Sri Harimandir Sahib and Sri Akaal Takhat Sahib in order to subdue Punjabi and Sikh nationalists. For this she will always be held in contempt and even the contemptible sinners would hold her in contempt. In Sikh history she and her accomplices will ever be remembered as faecal worms.

June 6, 1984 is the day when the symbol of royalty and spirituality, the sovereign of the sovereigns, the seat of everlasting life, the  undying self and deathlessness, Sri Akaal Takhat Sahib was attacked and plundered by the mortal government of Delhi. As a consequence, a reign of terror was let loose on Punjab, Sikhs and common people.

The Sikhs in turn declared their independence from the tyranny of the government of India through the Sarbat Khalsa (direct democracy) resolution of 1986 and declared war on the enemies of the independent nation of  Khalistan. During this militant independent struggle countless people have lost their lives and millions have been displaced.

Innocent Sikhs all over India were killed in a state sponsored GENOCIDE after the assassination of Indira Gandhi by her Sikh body guards following the desecration of the Golden Temple, Sri Amritsar Sahib. Sikhs never got any justice and successive Indian governments have dragged their feet away from this issue. Many perpetrators, victims and survivors of these crimes against humanity have died but to this day no criminal has been held to account.

The Sikh freedom struggle was successfully crushed in 1990s and Indian intelligence agents have been infiltrated in various Sikh religious and political institutions making it virtually impossible to exercise Sikh sovereignty. RSS and Hindutva ideologues have taken over Sri Akaal Takhat Sahib, the temporal seat of Sikhism. Sikh faith and ideology is under constant threat from these brahamanical-fascist forces in India and abroad. Hindutva elements are working on an ill conceived strategy to subdue Sikhism and assimilate it into Hinduism just like they’ve historically done it to Jainism and Buddhism in India.

In order to make sure that such thing never happens again and Sikhism survives this age old tyranny, Sikhs all over the world should remember June 6, 1984 on the 6th of every month. As a peaceful mark of protest until it’s beyond doubt that such an act would not ever be repeated again: Improvising upon the words of SSS Giani Harbhajan Singh Khalsa Yogiji.
